At the Carbon Capture Europe Summit 2027, discussions on the future of carbon utilization across Europe brought together leading experts to explore how CCU technologies can support the continent’s decarbonisation pathway.
Alberto Di Cecio, Head of CCUS at ERMA TECH GROUP, participated in the panel discussion titled “CCU in Europe: The Geographical Span of Carbon Utilization.” The panel also featured Manas Vaidya and Pierre Jeremie, and was moderated by Feriel Adjaout.
The panel explored how carbon capture and utilisation strategies vary across Europe, shaped by CO₂ availability, and regional market demands. The discussion also highlighted key application areas for captured carbon, including fuels, chemicals, building materials, and e-fuels, emphasizing their role in supporting a broader low-carbon economy.
A strong focus was placed on the importance of enabling regulatory frameworks at both national and EU level, as a critical factor in accelerating the development, scaling, and deployment of CCU projects across industries.
