ERMA FIRST is proud to announce its participation in the MIT Maritime Consortium as an Innovation Member, strengthening its commitment to advancing practical energy-efficiency solutions for the maritime industry.
The collaboration brings together ERMA FIRST’s experience in maritime technologies with the Consortium’s focus on research, innovation and real-world vessel performance. At the centre of this collaboration is a shared interest in understanding how energy-efficiency technologies perform at sea and how their potential can be better demonstrated through data and rigorous analysis.
Connecting Research with Real-World Vessel Performance
Improving vessel efficiency requires more than introducing new technologies. It also requires a clear understanding of how these technologies perform under actual operating conditions.
Through the MIT Maritime Consortium, ERMA FIRST will work alongside the MIT team and fellow Consortium members to explore the performance of energy-efficiency technologies across both newbuilds and existing vessels.
The collaboration will bring together hydrodynamic analysis, high-fidelity simulation and real operational data to support a deeper understanding of technology performance at sea. By combining these different sources of insight, the partners aim to better understand, predict and optimise the impact of energy-efficiency solutions in real-world vessel operations.
Working Together for More Efficient Shipping
The MIT Maritime Consortium brings together organisations from across the maritime value chain, creating a platform for collaboration between research, technology and vessel operations.
As an Innovation Member, ERMA FIRST looks forward to contributing to this collaborative environment and working with the MIT team and Consortium members to explore new approaches to energy efficiency.
